Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process where the mediator, who is a neutral party, assists the parties in discussing the issues involved and possible options for resolution.

In terminating a marriage, if the parties are able to successfully mediate the issues, they can avoid litigation and simply file a Dissolution of Marriage with the Court, and have one short hearing to terminate the marriage.

Benefits of Mediation

Mediation is less stressful, less expensive and usually quicker than litigation.

Mediation helps the parties to focus  on both of their interests and helps them to preserve their relationship, which is especially important if they have children.

Provides the parties more control over the process and the outcome.
